My Other Ex: Women’s True Stories of Leaving and Losing Friends

Today, I hold the memory of our friendship in a small, protected pocket of my heart. It resides there, a reminder of all that was good and right. I’ve let go of what was bad, what was wrong, what tore us to pieces. ~ KAW

I’m honored to announce my inclusion in a very special anthology, My Other Ex: Women’s True Stories of Leaving and Losing Friends. Edited by Jessica Smock and Stephanie Sprenger, this compilation is a testament to the power of female friendships… and their sometimes inevitable, painful endings.

Nicole Knepper, licensed mental health counselor, founder of the wildly famous blog, Moms Who Drink and Swear, and author of Moms Who Drink and Swear: True Tales of Loving My Kids While Losing My Mind has written an insightful, not-to-be-missed foreword.

My story, titled Sunshine and Storm, chronicles the unexpected demise of a long-term friendship and the journey of pain and healing that followed. The bonds created between women are strong and sacred, and their endings are sometimes akin to a divorce or death. There are stages of grief, and each one must be traversed in order to arrive on the other side. Thirty-five talented essayists (meet them here!) share those experiences in this lovely collection of honest, authentic, and raw testimonies.

If you’ve loved and lost a friend, you’ll find kinship and comfort within these pages. Scheduled for publication on September 15, you can preorder your copy at a reduced rate here.

Thanks, always, for journeying with me. XO
